Mumbai monsoon is back and bring joy to lives of most of the mumbaites. There is a fundamental question ,is it going to solve the water crisis. All the five lakes which service the city are nearing the dead levels. There isn't enough rain in the catchment areas.BMC has announced 30% water cut.
On the other hand there is flooding in the most of the low lying areas of the city. Drain pipes were build long back when the city's population was not even one third of what it is today.
What an irony!
Is there a way to properly channelize the most abundant resource in the world?
In a country where there has been proponents of ambitious projects like the one joining the perennially flooded rivers with the perennially draught ones.
When i, with a mediocre level of intelligence can comprehend that to successfully implement a rain water harvesting project for Mumbai,it wouldn't cost a nano fraction of those flashy mega projects, then one can only conclude that the non performance in this regard by the super intelligent administrators, democrats, politicians, policy makers is sheer negligence and conscious bureaucracy.
God save the maximum city.

Wimbledon 2009 : Work of wizardry
When this year's Wimbledon began i expected it to be very lack lustrous in the backdrop of Nadal pulling out. It thought Federer would win the championship playing with left hand and blind folded.
I was in for a surprise. Quality of tennis was very high. Hewitt's resurgence was surprising but pleasant.Haas never seems to get older still championing his serve - volley game.
Murray played beautifully but the 7 decade old expectations proved heavy for his young shoulders.
But the most surprising element of the championship was a guy who most of the "big wigs" of the game had written of as one of those big serving blokes, there are plenty of them in the history of the sport, who come and go like a puff of wind and nobody notice them.
I had myself in company of my sports enthusiasts friends ridiculed him during the last year's competition.
Andy " tomahawk" Roddick is the name and he has improved a lot.
He gave the master a scare or two yesterday night was determined to spoil the party of Federer's camp.
It would have given Pistol Pete a glimmer of hope that his countryman would save his record from being shattered.
But destiny was on the wizard's side, which was witnessed by the who's who of the world,You blink and you miss, some of them were Sachin,Ballack,Sir Alex,Woody Allen,Russel Crowe, besides the champions of the game Mc Enroe,Rod laver,Bjorn Borg,Pete Sampras.
Cutting the ribbon
Don't know what prompted me but today, no spectacularly great reason, i am starting blogging.
Let me cut the ribbon for my nickname aka Carnot.
From the days of my youthhood, i started having a very wrong misconception, rather right misconception that what ever i do , what ever i think, whatever i speak, whatever i preach, is always correct to the epitome, like a carnot's engine, an engine which has 100% efficiency, which has always been scientists' fascination.
The reason i carried the notion is still a mystery, but in due course it was thwarted by my friends thankfully to my rescue.
That's all folks.
So the nickname is to constantly remind me of my fascination and fantacies.
Will return to post soon
